- Chain 3, *dc 2 into the corner space, chain 2, dc 3 into the next corner space.* Repeat from * to * 3 more times. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the first dc.
- Repeat round 3 until the granny square reaches the desired size.
- Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Joining Granny Square Motifs
Once you have made several granny squares, you can join them together to create larger pieces. To join granny squares, simply follow these steps:
- Place two granny squares side by side, with the right sides facing each other.
- Insert your hook into the corner stitch of one granny square and the corner stitch of the other granny square.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop through both stitches.
- Yarn over again and pull through both loops on your hook.
- Repeat steps 2-4 for the remaining corner stitches.
- Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
