John R. Bruning is a retired Air Force colonel who flew F-16s in combat over Iraq. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and holds a master's degree in national security studies from the Naval War College. He is the author of several books, including The Longest Flight and The F-22 Raptor: Stealth Fighter.
