About the Author: Marjory Stoneman Douglas
Marjory Stoneman Douglas (1890-1998) was a renowned conservationist, historian, and author. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she moved to Florida in 1915 and became deeply involved in the state's environmental and cultural preservation.
